Auto repair shops · Websites and Google
Website design for auto repair shops in Mid-Michigan: a site and a Google listing that bring in the call.
An auto repair shop website has one job: get a driver with a problem to call or book. That takes a phone number they can tap at the top of every page, your hours, the services and makes you handle, where you are, and the same name, address and phone as your Google listing. In October 2026 I looked at the 62 auto repair shops Google Maps showed for Lansing, DeWitt, Mason and Charlotte: 21 had no website on their Google listing, and 13 had never claimed the listing.
A five-page site is $1,250 and a landing page $500, flat prices agreed up front. Already have a WordPress site? The Website Tune-Up is $499. Free Google scorecard first.

What it needs
What should an auto repair shop website have?
01
A phone number they can tap
Many people looking for a mechanic are on a phone, often with a warning light on. Put the shop number at the top of every page as a tap-to-call link, the same number that is on your Google listing, and say plainly whether you take walk-ins. A number that is only an image, or that cannot be tapped, sends them to the next result.
02
Services, makes and hours, in plain words
List what you actually do (brakes, diagnostics, oil changes, transmissions, inspections, towing if you offer it) and the makes you work on, in the words a customer would type. Show your hours and how to drop off a car after hours if you allow it. Those words are what Google matches to searches, so a shop that lists “brake repair” is easier to match than one that only says “full service”.
03
Proof and one way to book
Photos of the real shop and bays, your certifications if you have them, the warranty you offer, and recent Google reviews. Then one clear next step on every page: call, request an appointment, or get directions.
What to avoid
What costs an auto repair shop calls online?
A website that does not match the Google listing: an old phone number, different hours or a slightly different name. A customer who sees two numbers does not know which one is right, and listings that disagree are trusted less. Fix the listing and the site together.
Template sites that look like every other shop, coupons nobody updated, and pages that load slowly on a phone. If you change the site, keep the address of every page that already brings visitors, or point the old address to the new one, so you do not lose what already works.
What you get
How does Zomtronics build websites for auto repair shops?
A site built for the call
A five-page site for $1,250: home, services, about the shop, reviews and contact, with tap-to-call on every page, your hours and a request-an-appointment form. Flat price, agreed before anything starts.
Your Google listing matched
The site and the listing get the same name, address, phone and hours. The Tune-Up, $399 once, sets the primary category to Auto repair shop, adds your services and photos, and replies to the reviews already sitting there.
Kept working after launch
Website Care, from $149 a month, keeps the site updated and working. The Review Engine, $99 a month, asks every customer once, by text or email, for a review after the car goes home.
What the free scorecard checks
Two groups, each line marked OK, CHECK or FIX: your Google listing (categories, hours, photos, rating, and review count against the three businesses Google shows first) and your website (secure connection, a tap-to-call number at the top, the phone matching the listing, page title and business details). Run your scorecard.

Questions
Questions, answered plainly.
How much does a website for an auto repair shop cost?
With Zomtronics, a landing page is $500 and a five-page site is $1,250, flat prices agreed before work starts. A tune-up of an existing WordPress site is $499. Care after launch starts at $149 a month. Every price is published before we ever talk.
Does an auto repair shop need a website if it has a Google listing?
The Google listing usually gets the first look, but many drivers tap through to the website before they call, to check services, makes and hours. A listing with no website also gives Google less to match to searches. A small, fast site that agrees with the listing is enough for most shops.
What is the right Google category for an auto repair shop?
For a general repair shop, the primary category is usually Auto repair shop. Add secondary categories only for work you actually do, such as Brake shop or Transmission shop, so the listing matches the searches you want. The free scorecard checks your current categories in about ten seconds.
Do you work with auto body shops too?
Yes. Body shops need the same basics, plus photos of finished work and a clear note on the insurance claims you handle. The site and listing work is the same, and so are the prices.
